Raj- Here are a few links for you for the layout of Yokogawa's Exaopc Server process and batch control systems.

A question to you, are you not the Raj Kumar from AVG?

The V-Net vs. vL-Net question came up on control.com two years ago, here was an answer. http://www.control.com/thread/1026228379. The bottom line is that the protocol is the same, but V-Net is run over thicknet and L-Net is run over thinnet.

EXAOPC is an OPC server running on a windows. This open standard is developed by OLE for process control (OPC) for interfacing with optimization software packages running on a separate client PC. This would help in reading information from DCS and writing back (such as set points) to controllers in DCS such as Yokogawa CS3000.

If you have CS3000 system, EXA OPC interface package (LHS2411) comes as a standard package along with standard operation & monitoring software - LHS1100
