over head tank foundation

what type of foundation should be adopted for rcc. over head tank at 12 meter high from ground lvl of 1 lacks liters capacity

I presume that the lack is a new metric unit but even so it is not in the list of ISO. Could you give more input I am always eager to get the last information.

Type of foundation of any structure is decided mainly on two factors:

1- Magnitude of external forces transferred to foundation from superstructure.

2- Geotechnical parameters of the site like bearing capacity, groundwater table, angle of internal friction, soil profile etc

It would be advised to carryout analysis of structure first and get done geotechnical investigation then one would be in better position to choose/design foundation.

However in this particular case of 1 lakh liters (100 cubic meters) most likely you would require isolated foundation if subsoil conditions at site are good.
