Footing formula

What is the formula to detirmine how concrete is needed for a footing?

Are you asking how to determine how much concrete is required to pour a given footing profile (simple geometry) or are you asking how to determine the required footing profile for a given project (building codes)? Please clarify and perhaps someone here can help.
