Transmission Problems - Toyota Run X Triptronic 1.8

Hello

I have a toyota run x 1.8 auto triptronic.vehicle does not chnage to 4th gear and triptronic does not function.a computer was plugged in by a toyota dealer,gave code

p1725 n/t revolution sensor.

please give suggetions.

Test your revolution sensor. If bad replace. If not check wiring from it back to the computer.

The rev sensor could be in the transmission , or the engine. I am not familiar enough with your model to tell you for sure. Contact a local parts distributer for a picture of the replacement sensor. That should give you something to look for on your car. If that does not help, try googeling Toyota rev sensor, and finding some Toyota speciality sites. Good luck.

hello BoB

I do not know where the sensor is.the vehicle was at a dealer.the vehcile is an import from japan.i had a look at all the wires from bumper to bumper and no luck.
