Hello kalapala:

as far as I know you cannot get a masters degree in contract management.

But that sound similar to a contract manager who is employed, could this be the job?

Contract management could also mean going into the more Legal side of contracts, looking after people, and their homes etc.

But Contract management as I know it means you could be in charge of a building site. But to get to that position you have to work for several years to learn your craft. You can have various degree to help you with the job. Degrees in English and Maths and science for instance. But not in contract management itself.

Generally, a licensed general contractor may if he/she so chooses offer to perform the service of " managing the general work on a construction project on be half of an owner or developer. In doing so he is working for the party paying for his services. He would then be the go between party between the owner/developer and the contractor/contractors. The developer/owner may not be knowledgable regarding the general requirements or structual issues concerning the work requirements. This is the area where a construction manager would advise the owner/developer of the correct path to follow. Change orders and other such issues are generally the responsibility of the contract manager. But to be a good one you must have all of the same knowledge as the General Contractor.

TMF Then there is a non rated school called ITT Tech. You could learn some of the basics there but their "credits" are not transferable to an acredited university.
