could anybody please tell me what is the euivalence of A.C. and D.C.?

The equivalent DC value of an AC voltage or current is 1/√2 or 0.707 x the maximum (or peak) AC voltage or current. The equivalent DC value is called the effective (or rms) value of the sinusoidal quantity

This relationship is based on equivalent power dissipation in the form of heat resulting from AC and DC currents through the same fixed resistance.
