The battery backup cpacity will depend on how long you want the pumps to run on UPS, or in other words how quickly you can start your generator after the failure of your main supply.

Hi.. We have a product suitable for similar applications called POWERCON Motor-UPS which may be evaluated by you for suitability to your application. As per our product specification standard, 8 KVA would be just enough to support your two motors wherein each motor might start independently or simulataneously. Instead of using the DOL starter, you will have to command the UPS to ramp-up or ramp-down individual motors through external PFC.
