Clamping Length Requirement for Pipe Bend

12/29/2008 4:33 AM

What is the Clamping Length required for Pipe Bend of redius 5D. What should be the clamping lengh for a 18" pipe having P91 material with 5D bend. I want to mark field weld on the isometrics by providing clamping lengh for bend.

Also, the clamping lengh should be considered on both the side of the bend or only one side.

The only person who can answer is the people in the "Bend" shop.

Based on my experience as an Engineering Manager in a pipe fab shop I suggest that you only give an overall dimension and let the shop locate the Field Weld.

Long on to:

In our offer there are U-bolts, type E, A , J, D, galvanized, diameters of E19mm to E716 mm, mostly used in the shipyard industry. On request we also do U-Bolts made from stainless steel.
