Firstly, you must choose to design to either Div 1 or Div 2 - NOT BOTH. You can not mix and match the two as they are two distinct/separate entities (codes). Please see following, previous thread for the difference between the two.

http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/30713

and the following paper for more detail:

committees.api.org/standards/ecs/mtginfo/docs/08/07reviewofsectviiidiv2.pdf

Secondly, you are looking at the old Div 2, but there is a code case to allow design for this:

Case 2575

Use of Section VIII, Division 2 2004 Edition thru 2006 Addenda for Pressure Vessel

Construction Section VIII, Division 2

Inquiry: Under what conditions may the 2004 Edition thru 2006 Addenda of Section VIII, Division 2 be used in lieu of the 2007 Edition for construction of pressure vessels ordered after December 31, 2007?

Reply: It is the opinion of the Committee that "U2" Certificate Holders may continue to use the 2004 Edition thru 2006 Addenda of Section VIII, Division 2 to construct pressure vessels under the following conditions:

a) Vessels must be contracted prior to July 1, 2009.

b) The 2004 Edition thru 2006 Addenda of Section II shall be used.

c) This case number shall be listed on Line 5 of the Manufacturers Data Report as

well as underneath the Code Symbol Stamp on the vessel nameplate.

Thirdly,

"Shell of revolution" is just a fancy/generic term to encompass all of the different types of shells (cylindrical, spherical, heads, conical, ...........)
