Hello Guest,

It would be better to register with CR4 than to list your email address publicly. Spiders crawl such information, and the result is unwanted email. CR4 has a private messaging system that you can use. Plus, you're more likely to get an answer as a registered member.

Hope you'll join us.

Why maths ? with the vast knowledge available - starting form hydr system design to rotating machines maintenance & opn (hopefully covering the spectrum of a feww hundred RPM or less to sa 10KC/S (Gas turbines) - math may be not necessary.

(and anyway an expert in MS Excel can do it in excel itself)

I really envy it. In my thirty plus years in industry i can not boast of this wide field. Look at the curriculum vitae - from control system to designs to operations to maintenance.

Well i have to dabble a bit in these areas (having the maintenance as the addditional section with me in addition to mfr) but i cannot even boast these spectrum to myself.

I dont know why the guy is having so much problem in job hunting (this is the second post with same language).

Previous post had suggested him to contact an agency. But looks as if he wants to get out of gulf (literally and figuratively) and wants one of us to offer him a job.

Find if he wants salary in $ or dinar.

Still back to basics - why maths - in my highschool days it was my favourite too, but scares me now (esp when I look at my salary )

PS: find the oddman out

It is #8 ( it has no right to be here, even class 5-6 students are in MSOffice now- that is the only office they are permitted to be in )

By the way are you the guest ? (anour?) . If you are thois offtopic is for Milo.

PS2: Normally it is asked to the people who can not sign to sign as X on documents - don't ask me why- since I always felt all Xs are similar (but XXX has some other significance )

API normally will certify persons in quality field (eg certified welding inspector, certified qullity inspector etc).

Pl log on to www.api.org for these.

However these will not be useful in your field of work unless you want to enter my field (Quality)

If not in this area, I will advise you to use your company resources (since you are in petro business and most probably in exploration/ processing) and get the standards you feel are useful.

log on to the site and check the abstracts of the standards. List out what you find useful and check the availability. tou can always buy/ get them bought by your organisation (i mostly use the second route)

Update yourself, understand the standards. Though you will not get a certificate, you will be a thorough expert in a few areas.

A few organisations will give you certificates in related areas - But I don't know the value of them (never went into job hunting)

You have certifications in hydraulics, Vibration Analysis etc (just google them and you will get the links)

eg

http://www.ifps.org/Certification/certific_ovr.html

Best of luck.

Well Anour, seems you have a 50/50 self confident at this time. i think you are still a rookie on your field.

As what Moose is commented to you, fill-up the membership and that we can be of help to you.

taking experience by reading will not give you any merit of experience at all. it has to be learn by time, efforts, sacrifice and patience. All these things take years to be expert in a certain field of profession.

we can be of help perhaps on some points that you may need to study further and apply with your responsibility as a rotating equipment engineer.

But first, register to CR4 as member then you will be welcome to the group for your future queries

Well Triplex 74, you take advice well. That is a great start. Welcome to CR4.

About that resume, Even people who are superior in their careers get no results from mailing off resumes. Even good resumes. You must be a strong candidate or the companies wouldn't bother to send you a letter back.

The way to get a job is via personal connection. Connecting with people and making a network that can assist you and that you can assist as well.

First thing that I would do however is talk to some people that work in the field, and find out what the job you want is really called by most companies. Also call some of the people who wrote you back to seek their counsel.

Your choice of phrase "rotating equipment engineer" may be what is signalling the prospective employer that you are not the right candidate. It may be relevant where you are, but over here in the USA it is not an active job title.

Good luck on the search.

Triplex 74:

As a member advice....

1 -dont look for any position if you are lack of experience.

2-apply for a job that you may go for hands-on work as related to your ME degree.

3-Improve your English language ang technical writing.

4-look for a job in a petroleum industry. -

"say plant maintenance personnel" on this plant environment, you will learn a lot of work in many areas that will enhance your skill. name it, piping, fabrication, welding, equipment installation, safety, process operation, and many more things..... for mechanical engineer.

bet you, within 5 years time, you will get a good position out there....

dont be in a hurry! otherwise people around you will not get along and they will not share they knowledge at all. stay in low-profile with those expert people. they will share their skill to you slowly-slowly then... thats the way expert people learned from the expert. treat them also in bahrain for sometimes, let them enjoy and the glory is with you at the end....

after 5 years, please share also your knowledge in CR4... that way your team here will be grateful to you.

As Milo said, rotating equipment is not a good resume. Be expert and I mean expert in your field. Concentrate on your strong point. be an expert in maintance of GTG or similar area. Dont be an expert in everything as your starting resume says. I am not a prospective employer, but had I been, i would have looked for a master t a certain level and not jack of all trades.

You are supposed to be aware of all the boundary areas but your expertise should be on the field i am looking for.

With the resume you have submitted, i will assume that you are weak in all.

provide the strengths in your resume, and mention clearly also aware of and to what depth.

Honesty in the resume will work a long way and any dishonesty will be known sooner or later (in interview/ on job) .

With five years on the job, you have your strengths, exploit them for your sake and for your organisation/ future organisation and develope them as assets.

Best of luck
