Friction Material C-1349-ET

01/05/2009 10:57 PM

Looking for specification information for friction material "C-1349-ET". This is for a gear line clutch plate in oil. This is specified on a 40+ year old part and I can't seem to find anything on C-1349-ET so I can be sure we substitute equivalent available material.

You forgot to mention the type of machine. Perhaps that material is a type of cork or rubber from that time, but I would suggest that you contact LuK company who specializes in those materials and ask for an equivalent. Technologies of materials have developed so much in the last 40+ years that I am sure you will be have no troubles to find the right one.

Clutch is for horizontal boring machine planetary gear set which runs in oil. I've now been told friction material is some type of "impregnated bronze". I'm interested in finding material spec. on C-1349-ET just to be sure even though there are certainly better materials available.
