haz area classifaction is on the bases of

how much quantity is available of explosive gases air mixture in the atmosphere.it is classified in zones & classes

nedd of classification is for desining of instrument from that explossion.

after checking with portable gas detectors (having the specific sensors of potential gases) i.e. LEL,H2S,CO,CO2 etc...etc
