Bleed valves are open during startup and shut down to prevent compressor stalls. The fact the turbine did trip on high vibration indicates that the bleed valve did not open and it was not a false indication. There may also be compressor damage due to compressor stall. The compressor should be borescoped prior to restarting.

As for possible causes.

1. The actuation cylinder on the bleed valve may be jammed.

2. Control air filter could be blocked. Check the small continuos moisture drain hole on the filter. If it gets blocked, water can accumulate in the filter and get into the contol air lines and cause problems

3. Control air solenoid valve could be stuck

whenever gas turbines trip on high vibration, the consequences are very serious.stalling/pulsation may have occured in your case,in my knowledge one of the gas turbines compressor got damaged due to this problem. If vibrations of all the bearings have crossed their maximum value and much more than that then there are chances of a possible failure of compressor/gas turbine.do not doubt your vibration sensors and go for a thorough inspection of your compressor and gt.kindly share what your findings were

Sounds like compressor stall, hope it didn't damage the compressor you'll have to investigate
