Rubidium Frequency Standard

01/10/2009 3:00 PM

I have been told that rubidium frequency standards are hard to maintain. Is it true of the type shown here?

These show a better stability than the other 10MHz oscillators in ebay at this time. Will they maintain their rated stability with no maintenance? What is your experience with these devices?

I think these sealed units are quite stable over their lifetime. I suggest you refer to the makers data.

I have seen the maker's data. I am looking for someone with experience with these units. Perhaps I should rephrase the question: What does it take to program these units so that they meet their drift specs for one year without any maintenance?
