GRE Ppiping in Water Injection Offshore Platforms

01/11/2009 11:26 PM

Currently we are replacing some of the corroded (CS-Internal cement lined) pipes. One of the proposal is to use GRE pipes. We do not have earlier experience in using this @ 16 bar design Pre/150 # class size up to 26" NB.(design life=30yrs)

This is an Offshore water Injection platform and Sea water is the service.(Middle east)

Lines from Water intake to Sea water filters, Deaeration units and upto the inlet of Stage-1 Pumps.

We are worried beacause of Field joints failure, Offshore platform vibrations/movements due to sea(water) currents, special supporting systems and quality and availability of field repairs.

Advise your experience and related prominent failure details

Sounds like you need a Project Engineer.
