sov coil reistance formula need

how can i calculate of soleniod coil resistance .i need formula:

coil voltage= 24 v ac

watt= 9 w

Resistance= 8.8 ohm (Actual resistance measure with multimeter)

i try to calulate but i fail.any person can help me

I think this is what you are looking for

p= 9w

v=24

i=?

r=?

p/v=I

9/24= .375 amp

R=V/I

24/.375= 64 ohms

This should be what you are looking for

I think he means impedance:z=(R**2+XL**2)**0,5;XL=2PI*f*L.-

The solenoid has an AC impedance (Z) due to its resistance and its inductance.

You already know its DC resistance (R = 8.8ohm)

Its total impedance can be calculated using P=V²/Z, where Z is a vector.

since Z² = R² + (ωL)² and ω = 2∏f

you can transpose to get the impedance due to inductance (ωL) by itself.

I assume you are working with a DC solenoid, if so, you already have all the infos I feel that you need from previous posters.....

I want only ac solenoid coils reistance calculation.Dc coils i know.

I want how calculate ac sov coil resistance.last day i go to attend a sov where name plate mention only watt and supply voltage.so i need to calculate resistance?

I measure the coil reistance that was 8.8 ohm. so i calculate i got 64 ohm that was wrong.so i take another 3 ac sov detail but i can calculate reistance dire

NOTE: ALL ARE AC COILS

EXAMPLE1:

VOLTS:24 AC

WATT:9.0

RESISTANCE:? I WANT TO CALCULATE(ACTUAL RESISTANCE 8.8 OHM MEASURE BY MULTIMETR)

EXAMPLE2:

VOLTS:230 AC

WATT:8.0

RESISTANCE:? I WANT TO CALCULATE(ACTUAL RESISTANCE 451 OHM MEASURE BY MULTIMETR)

EXAMPLE3:

VOLTS:110 AC

WATT:2.0

RESISTANCE:? I WANT TO CALCULATE(ACTUAL RESISTANCE 394 OHM MEASURE BY MULTIMETR)

MY question is this if i know 2 values(volts and watt) than what is the RESISTANCE vaule of coil?

You need to know the inductance of the coil.......as well as the frequency of the AC....then look on the internet for the formula.....

then its not Resistance, its Impedance......

Measure the Inductance with a micrhenry meter .uh. measure is of the kick pull/push value.

Pay attention

1) resistance is also variable by temperature !! If temperature increases, resistance increases also.

2) impedance is also a function of the material your "coil-holder" is made of.an "air" coil and a coil "with electrical steel inside", can have exact the same number of wires and the same diameter of wire, but have a total different impedance.

You should also consider your amper turns as is required by the solenoid,this you can postulate from the dc operation then transfer the amps into your impedance calculation as a required wire size will affect the dc resistance and the overall impedance.
