Motor selection

01/19/2009 9:23 PM

Sir I am an electrical engineer & working in working in an tyre manufacturing industry. I want to know how to select a motor for the controll operation. My criteria is that i have to select a motor such that it will produce required torque for the movement of mechanical structures. So how can i select a motor based on mechanical load?

guest, the problem is what work machine you are dealing with? what is your goal?

keep constant torque? or constant power? how much is acceleration? speed?

if you hope to select simply, try this

power = torque x n

if power is large, select 3ph, otherwirse single one.

btw, do you have inspection equipment for your tyre product?
