Problem with Inventor Help

10/31/2006 8:03 AM

Hi: I have a problem using Autodesk Inventor, when I ask for help appears an error message like the following:

"The object does not accept this method mk:@MSITStore:C:\Archivos%20de%20programa\Autodesk\Inventor%2011pss\ADMMain_11_0.chm::/HelpSystem/Shared/HTML/HP_"

I think is a problem with I.Explorer. Someone know how to fix the bug?

Thanks to all.

Thanks for the advice. Does CATIA have any module for FEA (Finit Element Analysis)?

I know that Inventor has, but I still I don´t used it.

I can't help you with the Inventor question, but here is my 2 cents worth on CAD.

The only thing I know about Catia is that you better have a lot of free time if you are going to learn it. I have heard from other users that it is difficult to learn. Catia is great for surfacing (i.e. car panels, or stuff with lots of loosely defined curves), but there are other programs that seem better suited to solid modeling when you want firm dimensions. However, the design group for my company uses Catia because our customers use Catia and we want to share data with them effectively. So it all depends.

I operate at the assembly plant level and use SolidWorks for all my tooling and machine design. It has a built in static FEA program and you can upgrade to FEA with dynamic and assembly level analysis. I have also heard good things about SolidEdge, but I haven't used it myself.

Hi,

I use Inventor and I've never encountered a CAD program with so many bugs needing repair.

The only advice that I can give you is download all of the updates(service paks). Also, if you have'nt increased the capacity of your virtual memory, you need to do so. But, first do your homework! Go to the Autodesk forum to get a better understanding on how to change your virtual memory settings. Post the error message on the forum. You should find a solution to your problem.

Regards,

HHN

I agree with Nate I use Solidworks for everything and I have zero complaints which does not happen often. In CAD like anything else you get what you pay for so be prepared to pay $$$ for Solidworks or Catia which is very powerful software as noted by its use in most car and airplane design companies.
