	November 1^st 1957 - The Mackinac Bridge, the world's longest suspension bridge between anchorages at the time, opens to traffic connecting Michigan's two peninsulas.

	It allows oopers and loopers to commingle. I crossed it with my family in 1963 on a 1,200 mile camping trip around Lake Michigan.
