Good Glue for Mounting Photo onto Plexiglas?

01/28/2009 1:09 PM

I want to affix to the back of a sheet of plexiglas a photograph, or sandwich the photo between two sheets. What glue would dry clear in either case? Thanks.

Tranacendian, Check the Loctite company Webb site and you should find the proper primer & adhesive for your material (plexaglass or lexan ?) Don't use Supper Glue as this will cloud, the proper adhesive, applied as instructed will be crystal clear and extremely strong, Good Luck, J.Conway

Hello, You can get spray adhesive at office suppliers. It works great to spray it on the back of the photo and stick the photo to whatever ,then cover it with plexiglas

Try egg white. It is cheaper and handy right there in the frig.

Depending on the type of photograph, antique/modern no valve, I always sandwiched photos between two very thin sheets of plexiglass so that I did not ruin the photograph, especially old prints, if the plexiglass ever cracked when you glued the photo to it you are stuck.

Answer #5 (Guest) has it right. Any adhesive will react with the paper, some ruinously. Friction and surface tension will hold that puppy right in place in a plexi sandwich.
