If you answer following questions you get the answer and since it is a school assignment you cannot expect more from CR4 particiapnts than a guide line:

1- What is "condensing a gas"? For the first question I give you the answer it means take from the gas an amount of energy.

2- How can I get this energy from the gas? I shall give you a hint look at the Ts diagramms.

You will have the leasure to discover on your own the solution.

in our system gas is generating is thionyl chloride which is mixture of thionyl chloride, so2 and cl2. in which we condense the thionyl cholride and so2 and cl2 gas out from the condnser.

amount of the heat with the gas coming out from distillation column is 25000 kcal per hr.

your second questioni did not get it.

As non-condensible gases cannot be condensed, it is not possible to design a condenser for them.

dear frnds as i wrote that its a mixture of condensible and non condesible..

so thionyl is condensible & non condensible is so2 & cl2.
