Do you have any idea how cashews grow, and how they are harvested? I suspect cashew nut oil is NOT going to be a viable source for producing biodiesel...

You should do your own homework.

This took me 30 seconds.

This is worse than ridiculous.

Search for another project! You want to do or to help at:

1.Producing high value nutrition with a lot of energy and fertilizer.

2.Degrade to fuel with more cost.

3.Burn on farm to produce nuts or to transport.

Destroy natural habitats. Waste nature: our future.

"Biodiesel" will never be competitive!

Biodiesel is a shame and a criminal offense: there are many who have not enough food.

If you are religios: look to your laws, if not: to ethics.

Real advice after this inevitable first words:

1. Do your homework, learn how to get information, look at the different extraction and modification possibilities.

2. Read the books and reports. Sharpen your sense of critics. Make your own plan.

3. If you do not want to be a good professional: copy a solution of somebody else!

Easy RHABE, you will scorch his brain.

He needs to know that

A While Biodiesel is a niche market it will never be viable on a major scale even if all the farm land in the world was used. It takes to much resources.

B Cashews are worth much more as a nut crop than the Biodiesel they can produce.

C All engineers will not bite your head off for stupid questions.

D We do get tired of a lack of research before posting a question.

E Learn to do your own work because you will be a clerk not an engineer otherwise.

F If you get stumped tell us what you have discerned and what is frustrating your comprehension of the issue.

G The only way we are suppose to help with school work is when you have already done your part but still don't understand.

Now welcome to CR4 and do some more research

Brad

We should produce liquid fuel from plastics. those are in abundance in our trash and are combustible.

As a student project, may be you could look at french fries oil (used). Plenty of information available on this. But then, I suppose you already know that, having already googled the "biodiesel" expression. At least, this application should qualify with everyone's convictions. You could also find sources for dead beast oil and fat...

Sorry,

I think you are mistaken saying, "you already know that, having already googled the "biodiesel" expression". He didn't give any indication that he had performed ANY prior research before asking us to do his homework.

We are reaching a point of high demand and limited supply for used oils . . . there are lots of people jumping on the bio-diesel bandwagon.

As previously posted, we need to reduce use of liquid fuels and/or find other sources of energy for stationary applications.

What other plants can be considered in to bio fuel?

We have this SIP( Science Investigatory Project) and I dont know what plant to study.

Most plants are already discovered.
