Other anonymous guest,

Assuming you mean to lift a corner, i.e. one wheel off the ground, you are lifting

375kg = 375kg x 9.81 N/kg=3678.75N

Now comes the experiment!

Take a car jack and starting at half raised, measure the height between the jack and the ground. Then raise the jack 5 full turns, and measure the new height.

So if this was lifting the car it would require work.

Work= force x distance swept= 3678.75N x height raised (converted to m)

Work in=Work out, as energy in= energy out (over the same time)

Work= force x distance swept= force x circumfrence x revs=force x 2 x pi x r x revs=force x r x 2 x pi x revs

revs=5, torque (in Nm)=force x r, equate the work and solve for the torque.

Keep in mind that this analysis does not include friction, of which you could expect as much as 10-50% energy loss, depending on how well lubricated, and how well machined the worm is.

And a GA for that one,

I would probably cheat and use a torque wrench on the jack nut. It probably wouldn't be accurate however.
