They hope all the poor in india could be use computer, to calculate, to surf on the internet, to study by remote education ...

Hoever their willing is good, I pray their implement. although I know even a 7" lcd will occupy a much.

Quite true. $10/ $20 Indian computer proved at the end to be no computer at all but just a hub with 2GB ram in it.

Still I do not laugh at it but admire the courage of people who tried to something better for the masses.

Re: Ultra-Mobile Personal Computing (UMPC)

I use a 13-year-old ThinkPad 365XD. 24 MB RAM (it starts to be a bit tight), 1 GB hdd, 100 MHz P1 processor, OS/2 with StarOffice. I don't play games so it's sufficient for most of the tasks I have to do. My only problem is that it's a bit heavy and the battery lasts only for 2 hours. I could surely use the first configuration.

Aged man is not old man , I agree .

So as you said , such people may like this low and simple UMPC for simple usage , and so far as I know , people import these from China to Egypt , France and USA .

You may laugh at my brag. but if you search, you could find out that it is.

sereral years ago, usa developped a 150usd laptop computer, but fail on the market. Im not marketing specialist, I dont know why? two years ago, Britain developped a 100 ponds laptop, also delux, but still less people buy it. as well as developped by China, taiwan. (of cuae, omost of them are produced in China).

Many goverment in the world wish to develop a cheap pc for their poors for education and work etc. but a conflict exists among many factors. if there would be financial specialists or politicans out there to see it now, they will give a wonderful analysis. its out of my depth.
