Transformer conservator

how do you test the cell( bladder) placed on ttop of the oil in a conservator with the pipe on to connected to the Silica gel

There are a number of ways to test the bag. It depends upon the type and manufacture of the bag.

Your best option is to go back to the transformer manufacturer and seek their help. They should have specific instructions on this.

Dear Sir,

The Rubber bag inside the conservator can be visulaised through the Inspection Chamber Porivided on the Conservator Tap.

This Air Bag needs to be inflated by suppling Air through the Breather Pipe. Pressure upto 1 bar is applied.

Then the Oil is filled in the Conservator. The Indication in the Magnetic Oil Gauge reagrding the Oil fill level is also refereed regarding the healtiness of the Air bag. If the Air Bag is not inflated the pointer in the MOG will no indicate the correct value.
