Short Circuit Calculations

02/10/2009 5:05 AM

r/s,
i have some problem releted to short ckt calculation
1) why we use three phase fault for calculation compare to others like-
LG, LL,LLG.

2)WHY WE ARE NOT CONSIDER LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEM IN SHORT CKT CALCULATION.

GIVE MORE DETAIL FOR SHORT CKT CALCULATION AND RELAY CO-ORDINATION.

THANKS

Calculations are based on symetrical and non-symetrical worst case scenarios. I think the best thing would be to read the IEEE Buff Book which is specifically a standard on Fault Calcs and Coordinated Protection.
