At least take the time to use "search all of CR4" and read the huge amount of discussion covering this subject, and then further questions will not seem so lazy and ridiculous.

We know you are new to this subject, but we suspect you are not new to the search process. Let us know what you find. CJM

Yeah, I was a little slow responding. Something to do with glitches in my hard drive,

or my wife getting on me about time spent on the forum, not certain.

I did reply to the thread 'Phasor rotation' though, and quite nicely. I long for a more serious questioner, who leaves one feeling good about helping with the finer points, rather than a criptic sentence fragment with no clues.

Perhaps there is a lot more confusion out there than I had ever guessed. CJ

the insulation resistance test was carryout by lopping two phase of the conductor of the cable to the earth conductor and to the lead of testing instrument (hi-pot meter) and other lead of the test instrument will be connected to the remaining phase cable, without power the cable.

Welcome omotayo, nice to see you have joined the forum and signed in, hope you enjoy the inter-action.

Also I'm sure you meant to type "looping" rather than "lopping", but we all learn to be very forgiving since English can be a bit troublesome if not our 1st language. For me, typing is not my 1st skill either.

you can either use a MegOhm meter or a Hi- pot.

Hi all,

Smells like a homework question here. Do not let this poor person near a megger

Cheers

I am not worried about him since he is doing it deliberately. I am more worried about the the guests of the guest who will be near the cable that are certified to carry the voltage by this guest. (No Xmech/Guest. I didn't mean you )

LOL - maybe we should let him hold the leads of the megger and wind himup a bit? At least then he will have tested his own insulation!
