Rimming Steel

Hello

In En 10025 we have the method for deoxidation steel

FU Rimming Steel

is there anybody explane me what is Rimming Steel method

and if you can please introduce site or standard to me.

To produce rimming steel ingots, you'll need to adjust the oxygen content before casting occurs. That way, there can be good CO evolution during solidification. What you'll get is an ingot with an outer layer of very pure iron. The sheet product then has a good surface and formability.

This isn't exactly cutting-edge technology, tho. Because of the popularity of continuous casting, killed steels have largely replaced rimming steels

Rimming steel is produced vai the ingot casting route. Today most manufacturers adopt the continues casting method.

This steel is good for manufacture of welding electrodes.
