Gang operated breakers are pole mounted manually operated HT switches which are operated in gang for breaking and making 3 phase circuits simultaneously on off load conditions. (They are called "GOD" ). They do not trip on over load or short circuit conditions and are to be backed up with DOF ( Drop Out Fuses)for short circuit and overload fault conditions. For more details search google.

Auto re closers are HT circuit breakers which can operate automatically after they trip on faulty conditions. They are mostly used to protect cross country HT over head lines where instantaneous earth fault occur often and the fault remain for only short time and clears automatically as in case of bird hit or snake fault etc. Auto re closing breaker can restore the supply with out the help of an operator .
