I assume that you want to check the resistance of an Earth Ground from a machine. Use a megger to determine the resistance.

Just start walking forward and see how long the earth continues. If you fall off then you have lost continuity. If you are looking for something more specific please ask.

Earth continuity? The industry standard test for checking earth continuity is to use the resistance scale or continuty "beeper" setting on a multimeter.
