Please let us know what is form factor in ac circuits and what is the use of it

In an ac circuits -

form factor= (r.m.s value/average value) =1.11

Use of form factor-

The transmitting and distributing voltage is measured in r.m.s. value,but generating voltage is in average value.So we can change the average value in r.m.s. value by above formula.Example-11kV,33kV,132kV,220kV etc.
