Selecting an Uninterrupted Motive Power Supply (UMPS)

03/03/2009 10:55 AM

Do anyone know about the UMPS (Uninterrupted Motive Power Supply) or VFD with battery back-up? Please provide the information about the components and their selection for this equipment. Regards, Pranay (India)

You could consider Pillar make Rotary power supplies which will provide power to the equipment till the DG starts.Maybe CIL is also attempting such a soln.

VFD's are able to run on DC 550V. And can supply the relative load too for the required period. This voltage is then inverted by VFD. Only the requirement is to design the battery bank according to Motor name plate rating.
