Reverse Pulse in a Dust Collector

03/03/2009 11:38 PM

can anyone tell me the reverse pulse work in a dust collector. does it need the sonic wave to clean.

i have a dust collector that has 1" pipe with drilled orifice of 10mm (3 hole for 3 bag filters) and it connected to a diaphragm valve of 1/2". pressure is 5.5 bar at valve inlet.

this design will clean the bag efficiently or should i changed the diaphragm valve to 1" for better efficiency.

ruchiraslk; the air pulse shakes the bag so the dirt/dust/etc goes to the bottom to the collector container. perry

hi

To get best cleaning effect the orifice should be at the center of the bag (presuming bags are circular bags. the distance between the orifice and the bag should not be more. if it is more the air from the orifice will escape to the surroundings and the shaking effect will not be good.

if you use 1" diaphram valve will give you good effect.

cheers

Yes i would change the valve to a 1 inch but you may need to change your pulse time if you have increased the volume of air going into the bags eg if pulses every 5 seconds for a duration of 300 ms you may need to shorten the duration of the pulse to accomadate the the extra volume of air going in to the bags
