	Hi there, This will depend on the PLC type you have and the battery setup (onboard or external). Siemens S7 has a different procedure to Siemens S5 and so they will all vary. Either you will have to provide more information or you will have to RTFM (Read The F#cking Manual). Regards, Craig

	Well I can tell you what NOT to do, don't give into the temptation of trying to remove the outer casing with a hammer after you strip the screws holding the case togeather. Alternatively don't bother if the PLC has no battery and it's memory backup is a simple capacitor. __________________ jack of all trades
