	dear friends, i want to know that for teach how to design complet sub station from starting it means from selection of site for substation to charging of sub station wkich book i should to REFER OR PURCHES. if u know that than plz reply me. 	Try the series of books from IDC technolgies: http://www.idc-online.com/books/?country=Australia&group=Electrical%20Engineering They have a decent selection which have a hands-on approach, not like your typcial engineering textbook laden with mathematics.

	Substation design begins with the requirement of quantum of load to be handled and the electricity regulations that are applicable in that area. Voltage level corresponding to each load size is standardised. Connection is for independant consumption or for interconnecetion with utility supply will determine how & what design is applicable. Area requirements is a subsequent extension of the above-mentioned.
