Do you mean inter-tripping in protection schemes of HV systems? If so, Inter-tripping is the controlled tripping of a circuit breaker in order to complete the isolation of a circuit, or command to remote circuit breakers to isolate circuits. For high reliability of HV protection schemes, inter-tripping may be used to give back-up to main protections, or back-tripping like in the case of breaker failure.
