DNP3 Slave Over CDMA for Small IO Count

03/09/2009 3:42 PM

I am seeking a DNP IO Slave, to connect to my DNP3 master via CDMA (Verizon, North America). My company manufactures a DNP3 PLC, but it is way overkill for the 6 inputs we need to monitor from an existing system, and we are working with limited space. The control circuit I am monitoring is 240VAC, so 240VAC inputs would be an advantage as it will remove interposing relays.

Thanks for any suggestions!

And before anyone flames me, yes, I have done my own research; on Google, AB, Avantech and B&B.

You have a number of solutions but price is just one point, you haven't specified anything about environment requirements and whether the CDMA modem should be embedded in the IO Box.

Just in case, here are a few solutions:

OPTO22: http://www.opto22.com/documents/1553_SNAP_DNP_IO_product_overview.pdf

SIXNETIO: http://www.sixnetio.com/html_files/products_and_groups/mipm_vt.htm, see the RTU 'mIPm+'

ITLITY: http://www.luciol.info/gb/downloads/leaflet_uk_clft_01_00e.pdf

Hope this helps
