The Browsers Go Head to Head

11/09/2006 2:38 PM

With the release of Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7.0, users finally have a choice among equals. Users of Firefox 1.0 will recognize their new version. Microsoft has made more significant changes to Internet Explorer. IE7 includes tabs and other features that had pulled people toward Firefox, while the challenger continues to do many things faster and more easily. This report from Information Week compares them to allow you to make the best choice to suit your needs.

I do think there is one more competitor in the race:

the opera browser.

My experiences with it says that it is also a very good browser.

http://www.opera.com/index.dml

lets give a try!

I just updated to IE7, the mail program is much improved.

I've been using Firefox for more than 2years.

though IE is much improved...

Firefox still has the edge w/download manager, passwords manager, more search engine choices,foxytunes..... Better addons.

Even w/the added steps, because of the lack of a mail program, Opens slow too.

Firefox still wins

I can't seem to use the mozilla mail, asks for some smpt password I can't get around.

I used It [Mozilla] for a few months & after a Windows update, locked out.

Not a real fan of the bait & switch bs MS plays.

You buy an OS & once the trial runs out their hitting you up for more $'s to upgrade toa "full version"

Open Source Rules! [or should ]

Open Office beats MS office, while I'm off on this rant.
