how can we measure POWER FACTOR that is cos(thetha) practically.

1) put a pf meter on line

2) measure V, I and W and calculate.

powerfactor is a measure of how much effective power is beung consumed compared to the amparent power being supplied.

p = v. i. power factor

to measure it practically you can use a pf measure if its available. in the event that you dont have it, you will need to measure voltage, current and power of the concerned circiut. thereafter you can calculate the pf.
