Could you please advice me what is the difference between BS 550 and PD 5500.

BS EN 550:1994
Title IdentifierSterilization of medical devices. Validation and routine control of ethylene oxide sterilization

BSI has published PD 5500:2006 'Specification for unfired fusion welded pressure vessels', which supersedes PD 5500:2003.

Nearest to civil (assuming you are one ) i could get is again google :

BS 473; 550:1990 - WITHDRAWN (replaced by BS EN 490:1994, BS EN 491:1994)

Specification for concrete roofing tiles and fittings

But PD - no such luck.

Post in civil engg forum and check.

BS 550 - PD 5500 = BS - PD - 4950 or PD - BS + 6050
