What is a Thermo-Hydro-Pneumatic Engine and how it works

03/18/2009 2:39 AM

A small R&D company, nemes-invent srl, patented and try to find developers and investors for his special hydro-pneumatic driven powertrain. The technology is very simple but very efficent too : some hydro-pneumatic accumulators around the IC engine have fitted some heat-exchangers in the gas area. During the compression in one tank , the gas is simultaneous cooled by heat exchangers and the cold side of a heat pump achieving an isotherme ; the derived compression heat is pumped to heat the already compressed gas (in prior cycle) in the next tank.Further, the heated compressed gas is overheated in the next tank by an extra hot heater circulated by hot exhaust gas in order to expand and push the hydraulic liquid to the hydraulic powered wheels. The heat pump itself is driven by the cooling fluid of the IC engine, adding its own heat to the compression heat and push both heats back into the thermodynamic cycle to heat the compressed gas and improving the thermodynamic efficiency . The accumulators don't work just as passive buffers anymore but, act as genuine heat engines inside the thermodynamic cycle like Stirling engines somehow. The result is a hugh efficiency improvement , a drastic fuel consumtion sink and a sensitive reduction of CO2 emission. The technology is 10 times better as the hydro-lunch made by EPA and Eaton for UPS trucks.Nobody interested ? nemes.invent@gmail.com

Sounds to me like you've invented a way to make an end run around the first and second laws of thermodynamics.

Thank you for comment , Mr.Weldon !

The procedure really cheats the TD rules, but for non pros people : by known IC engines, the expansion of the hot gases push the piston direct-via mechanic links-but instantly -the wheels and hot gas must be instantly exhausted , and the engine must instantly be cooled and cooling heat must be removed. That is the reason why by know IC engines these exhaust and cooling thermal energies get wasted.(A known solution for exhaust gas heat recovering is the supercharging with inter-cooler compound compressors. The exhaust heat drives the turbines&compressors which make the role of first stage of compression in the cycle. But the cooling heat from superchargers compressors and from the engine still be wasted) To avoid the waste I split-ed the basic expansion from the end-use-wheels making a break to create time and place to recover almost whole produced heat in the engine. By active inter-storage of the prime energy thru thermo processed pressured gas in accumulators are used both the cooling heat (driving the heat pump with COP =3-4) of the engine and the exhaust heat from engine too.For non-pros a parallel : supposing instead accumulators would be some springs ;if they are compressed they give back the whole energy of primary compression with no losses ;but, if we heat the springs during compression will be easier to compress them;if we cool the springs during extension they will give back more stroke as by compressing .Gases works contrary: easier to compress when chilled , stronger expansion when heated That is the clue why by inter-active-storage the end energy is higher as the primary one, just putting the waste heat to work. What we not understand is why the DOE, EPA,NYSERDA and other gov. agencies gave us no answer to our proposal. EPA spend the money to produce with Eaton some hydraulic driven trucks to recover just the brake energy in some hydro-pneumatic passive accumulators, as 50 years ago was by LDH locomotives. Nobody really interested ?I would add an attachment but I can't find the attachments button ...

Hi ION

Very interesting. See me on your side. I have some very similar problems or difficulties in your field of expertise. It is late now so I will get back to you and your situation in the following days.

There is hope in discovery. We will see, Ky.

I suspect that unless you get someone to rewrite your communication, they have to work too hard to figure out what you are trying to tell them. Long convoluted sentences in (excuse me) broken english are a real pain to understand. If you can't get help locally, in writing your communications, then at least shorten your sentences to elements of the complete thought. I am intrigued by your idea but a problem trying to analyze your communication and therein embrace it myself. Hope this helps you.

Dear Mr.Doitinastang,

Thank you for your replay and I apologize myself for my broken english ; I'd like to see a native American writing Romanian as broken as I write english, after just 2 moths of intensive learning. You've absolute right, the topic is complicated inclusive in original sheet therefore help not very much to ask some other to translate. On the other hand , just read please a "non broken english" 100% original American patent sheet and you will "broke" your mind trying to understand something. You will be astonished to see how excessive ,whirled ,long and ,incomprehensible this language may be.I tried to explain also in very basic language to be understandable by all , including non pros people. If you though have some punctual understanding problems please don't hesitate and ask for more detailed explanations.Success !

I fully agree with you that patents can be very complex in written form. I have a couple and I was quite put off by the way the patent attorneys wrote them. However that is a different matter. I didn't intend to offend you. I was merely pointing out that to be understood on this forum, one must be as clear as possible, in explaining ones self, because many of the best ideas come from people not schooled in the specific discipline of the topic. I would like to understand your topic however language issues make it very difficult. There are countless topics to get involved in but I have only a limited amount of time. My apologies if I did offend you. My comment was written(with some gramarical errors of my own) to entice you to get assistance in writing so we can better help you. Your topic appears very interesting. Thank you for your response.

Thank you Mr.Doitinastang !

I fully see your point of view and I agree with you.I will try to enhance my English language but to reach the natives skill could be very difficult for me .By the way, if is not confidential ,what does Do-it-in-a-stang mean ? What is a "stang" , please ? Not a "sting" somehow ? I wish you good luck with your patents .Thanks again.Regards.

It is stang, as in Mustang. I restore and upgrade 64.5 thru 66 Mustangs. Full body restoration, fuel injected recent 5.0 engines, solid state ignition and fully upgraded wiring harness, double wishbone front suspension(MII), full frame(uni-body style), 1.25 front and .625 rear sway bars, Halogen headlights, quarter windows in the FB, fuel cell between the wheels, spare tire in what used to be fuel tank, SS grill for radiator and side air scoops to rear disks, apron inlet to front disks and I sew and install my own custom interiors. Ergo, the do it in a stang. If you really want to have fun, doitinastang.

Super ! That it you did is super cool ! Congratulations and do it in as rife as you can !Enjoy de stang ! Looking for some TIG devices I dicovered a "postludium" after they just did it -a picture entitled by me -"Hot love result", or "Just did". You may print it as poster and put on the wall in your garage , isn't funny ,do you like it ?

Hi Ed

when I was a little child, I once saw a little white rabbit. Not that it matters.......
