Hi Langyaw - George Harrison was great - I miss his music. He and The Beatles were the ones who first introduced me to India and its music/culture back in the early 70's, here in Upstate, NY. The authors I was trained on for Mechanical Engineering were Shigley and Mischke (McGraw-Hill publishing), if the questioner is open to authors outside of India, too. - Larry

Hi Larry,

'nother baby boomer, huh?

yeah, boy George was greatly influenced by Indian musical guru Ravi Shankar, too.

I believe OP is looking for Indian authors for this book. AFAIK, the medium of instruction in India for engineering is English.

Cheers!

Here is a good Indian publisher:

http://www.newagepublishers.com/servlet/nasubjdisp?offset=0&subname=Mechanical&ordby=Publication%20Year

But I am not sure if you are asking about books in the Indian language, because these may only be English - but you could check with them.

I don't know about Indian.............but probably one of the best, and I have used for many years, is Machinery's Handbook, now in its 28th Edition.

It is comprehensive and easy to use............personally, I would recommend it to every mechanical engineer.

What about this library of non-Indian handbooks (free downloading) in Mechanical engineering and others.

The following site is very interesting for free downloads of codes, standards, handbooks and software: http://www.egpet.net/vb/index.php.
