I'm sorry. This sounds too much like elementary homework to be a legitimate question in the EE forum.

OK,

Let's take it from the beginning.

1. How many ways are there to hook three batteries and a light bulb together?

Remember, the batteries and the bulb have two possible hook-up points each.

I'm waiting...................................

I know it

My son (std 5) doing it daily with a modification

2 cells, one motor (taken by breaking a toy motor) and one bulb (stolen from my torch) and conencting in series, parallel etc to get the proper speed of the motor and glow from the lamp.

First I would build an inverter circuit to convert the 4.5VDC voltage from the three series-connected batteries to 230/240VAC to power the light bulb, next I would connect the inverter circuit in series between the batteries and the light bulb.
