WEEE Man - How much electronic tech do you waste?

06/02/2005 11:26 AM

For years we have been consuming and disposing of tons of high-tech waste. In the UK the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) issue has prompted one activist to illustrate it buy building a man out of the amount of junk electronics that the average person will generate in their lifetime. The WEEE Man weighs in at 3.3 tonnes (3.6 tons) and is over 7 (23 feet) meters tall.

Wow, talk about valuable real estate. He's opposite the Tower of London and next to Tower Bridge, and right next to the mayor's office. should have a lot of traffic and bewildered visitors.

They refer to the town hall as "Darth Vader's helmet", its really odd looking. The good news is the tour buses go right by it and the side of the river it's on isn't to bad traffic wise. I wish it was up when I was there.
