Roll Form Threads

Hi guys

Can a whizz on this site plz tell me the correct inspection pins for a 1/4 28 roll form thread g8 pre plate in steel. We are having quite a time trying to find this spec for tolorance on minor dia.

Also can someone plz inform me as to the difference between a b8 and g8 tap.

1/4-28 UNF 2B tolerances are the same no matter the method you use, Roll taps or cut taps. I know that Roll taps require a closer tolerance in the minor dia.(tap drill isize) for them to work properly. but the end product should be the same in size (Ø.215) Jim C

a G8 thread has a wider allowable tolerance band.
