Sizing a Vapor Extraction Fan

03/26/2009 2:57 PM

we have a vapor extraction fan connected to lube oil tank of Toshiba make steam turbine but we are facing problem with oil vapor ingression into turbine generator.

I suspect that the size of the blower is not able to handle and function to our requirement.

please suggest what could be the cause of this problem and the process of sizing vapor extraction fans.

Regards

Dear, First you need to check the volumetric flow and pressure of the selected fan, then try to calculate the amount of steam generated. Please note that as temperature of air increases, density decreases and amount of work done increases. And hence blower need to be design at higher temp. Hope this can clear your problem.
