Boiler Selection and Cogeneration

I work in a sugar factory in kenya and we are to install a co geration plant. What are the main considerations in the boiler pressure seletion for the plant ie btwn 20-120 bars and what are he advantages n disadvantages.

It depends on several factors- sugar plant capacity, power only captive or export, plant steam requirement etc. On average 60bar and above is now the norm.

A lot depends upon the process temperatures required, which comes from a document entitled something like "Process Description". This document is written by the Process Engineers at the facility in question, and will outline the utility requirements at that installation.

Process documents are often commercially sensitive, and unlikely to be found in a global Engineering forum or available to Google over the internet.
