Standards for Power Transformer Protection

04/05/2009 2:01 PM

Hi All,

Can anyone advise as to what are the applicable codes and standards that guide/govern power transformer protection.

I have been reviewing the IEEE C57.12.00- 2000 and some others as well as some other documents from IEC etc. however I am looking for definite information or guidelines as to what functions are required for the different transformer categories.

Thanks.

For instance , in the case Converter Duty Transformer-it should be designed by keeping the Harmonic Spectrum in mind-to withstand additinal current / heat due to power conversion.
