under/over voltage protection

04/09/2009 4:42 PM

hi all

i want to make under/over voltage protection for a load of about 50 amps ''house''. the main breaker is 63 amps 2pole.

the supply is 220v live.neutral

when i checked on the website i found under/over voltage relay but to use it i need breaker 63amps 2pole with uv coil, so the relay will trip off the main breaker by cutting the supply of the uv coil.

please advice if any body knows where i can find 2,3pole 63amps breaker with uv coil 220v.

your help is highly appreciated.

Dear all,

I have just checked in ABB Tmax catalog.

They have 63A MCCB with undervoltage release - UVR as an accessory.

220-240VAC/220-250VDC version is available.

Regards

You probably require SHUNT trip coil with breaker. If you have uv / ov relay to sense.

try -

www.lntebg.com / schneider / hagger / legrand etc....

That's right, use a Shunt Trip, not an Under Voltage Trip accessory. If you use the UV trip, EVERY TIME the utility power fails, you will be required to manually reset the main breaker.

If this is a residential application, your 63A main breaker is most likely an MCB, not what the ABB T3 frame breaker is. If so, you must match the same manufacturer as what you have for all of the rest of your breakers. Every mfr I know of offers ST accessories for their products, so find out what you have and ask them for the Shunt Trip accessory.
