cathodic protection

hai,

what is the reason for cathodic protection used only for oil,water stroage tank and not used for chemical tank like Anti-scalent,Sodium sulpate etc also explain me why the negative reference voltage used in tank

The purpose of the technique is to prevent or limit the rate of corrosion of steel. <...Anti-scalent...> and <...Sodium sulpate...> are likely stored in plastic tanks, which fall outside the scope of <...cathodic protection...>.
